Only 2% of more than 1,700 home owners say they have achieved their design vision in their homes, according to a survey by the remodeling website Houzz (2014 Houzz Decorating Trends Survey). The master bedroom is where many say they still have a lot of work to do.
Here are a few ways we help homeowners achieve their dream space:
New headboard.
Showcasing a bed by adding a headboard can really change the dynamic of a room. A headboard can dress up a bed and make a bigger statement for the master bedroom. Headboards options have really came a long way – wood, fabric, metal.
New bedding.
Sometimes all it takes is new bedding to give a master bedroom a completely new look. Solid fabrics and florals are popular now. Tone-on-tone neutral prints give a very high-end look. Layers of pillows and end-of-the-bed throws enlist a spa-like look.
Add a seating area.
Creating a tranquil space to sit and read in a master bedroom is a popular pick with homeowners. Even if it is just one chair in the corner. The accent chair can add a pop of color and personality to a room as well without breaking the budget.
Dress the walls.
A fresh coat of paint can do a lot for any room in the house and the master is no exception. Whatever your style, calm and soothing with neutrals or fun and exciting with a bold color – but dressing the walls with some paint is a plus.
You can also dress the walls with new artwork that sets the mood for your space. A well-placed piece of art that reflects your space can really put the finishing touches on your room.
Curtains or blinds are another factor to dressing the walls. Adding soft finishing touches to the walls with curtains is an easy and affordable way to transform a space. Blinds can equally give a clean, finished appearance that will last the test of time.
